OCH Student Rentals - Property Manager

Undergrads in southeastern USA can often be at odds with each other, whether it’s regarding sports rivalries, where their schools finish in inconsequential rankings like party life or attractiveness, or just friendly competition. But one thing that unites them is the country’s most ubiquitous and festive annual event: Mardi Gras. Except, the difference between these students and those at SUNO is a matter of distance. Some students travel from states away for the event, but SUNO students just have to drive or walk down the street to find the parties. I wouldn’t recommend buying an apartment on Bourbon Street--studying would be impossible--but getting to and from Mardi Gras can be very easy if you find a rental nearby.

States like Maryland and Virginia can rightfully claim that they’re part of the South, but you haven’t truly experienced the unique climate of this region until you’ve been deep down in Louisiana. New Orleans has Texas’s heat combined with Florida’s humidity, and in the summer it’s just as unpleasant as it sounds. Average temperature highs in May through September are over 86 degrees, and from June to July they average over 90 degrees. The humidity adds a palpable thickness to the air, which is why you won’t mind when there’s 30 inches of rain in the summer. Overall, New Orleans gets 62 inches of rain every year, which makes it the wettest city in the country.
