Public Transportation

The University of Central Florida gives its students access to public transportation run by the Central Florida Regional Transit Authority (CFRTA), and also by the school itself. CFRTA has a bus line that goes to the campus and can take students 15 miles southwest to downtown Orlando, or anywhere in between. The school operates a shuttle service that runs both on and off campus. The on campus lines stop at class buildings, residence halls, dining areas, libraries, etc. There are eleven off-campus routes that pick up students who live in nearby rentals (it has a list of around 20 apartment buildings that it stops at). If you want to live off-campus, you should check out this list (available on their website) so you can have an easy commute on one of the shuttles.

The University of Central Florida has the second-most students out of every post-secondary school in the country with 59,767 students. To be fair, these students are spread out over twelve campuses, but the main Orlando campus is home to the majority of them. If you wouldn’t feel comfortable at a large school, then UCF definitely isn’t for you. As for demographics, the majority of the student body (59%) is White. The next two largest populations are Latino/Hispanic (19%) and African-American (10%).
