OCH Student Rentals - Property Manager
At MDC, students will be close to all of Miami’s cultural highlights. Wynwood’s art community is just south of the school, with its galleries and art walks. Both Marlins Park (where the city’s major league baseball team plays) and the American Airlines Arena (where the city’s basketball team the Heat play), are a few miles away and are fun places to spend your nights during the summer and winter, respectively. And then there’s South Beach, which has some of the best beaches and nightlife in the country, and is just eight miles away from MDC. The warm weather allow you to explore the city year-round, and when you do you’ll appreciate how much there is to do and see in Miami’s unique culture.
Weather
OCH Student Rentals - Property Manager
The neighborhood next to MDC is called Little Haiti, and in the summer the name is particularly fitting, as Miami actually feels as hot as the tropical island of Haiti. Temperature highs during that time of year regularly sit in the 90s, but with the humidity the real feel is well into the triple digits. If you’re living here over the summer, you will absolutely need a rental with air conditioning. You’ll need an umbrella too; summer is easily the wettest part of year here, as more than half of the days in June, July, August, and September have rain. The winters, on the other hand, are drier and much more mild, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
