It’s fitting that a school located in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, has a stellar political science major. It was ranked 9th among U.S. public universities and 24th in the world by the publication “Political Studies Review.” The political science department also ranked 8th among U.S. public universities in jobs landed by Ph.D. students post-graduation. Students at FSU are able to get internships at the state house, which is just a mile east of campus. If you’re looking to get a job in politics, FSU is a great choice for your future.

Tallahassee is usually hotter than the rest of Florida. It’s fairly typical for summer days to hit the 90s (the average highs for June, July and August are 91, 92, and 93 respectively), and it can occasionally exceed 100 degrees. Some Americans in cold weather states would say that this sounds perfect to them, but if they haven’t been to the South in the summer they wouldn’t be able to imagine how hot it actually gets. The mild winters are the payoff for this, of course, with temperatures staying in the 50s and 60s. Unlike other parts of Florida, Tallahassee does not usually have to worry about Hurricanes; the last recorded one hitting the city was nearly 30 years ago.
