New Haven’s infrastructure has a well developed public transportation grid, and with a little-known university called Yale in town, students have been using the local buses to get around for years. CT Transit has two routes that SCSU students can take: D just east of campus, and B on the west side of campus. SCSU also runs a shuttle service with eight buses, and even though they’re used mostly for getting around campus they’re still useful. One of the shuttles can take students to Union Station and back, which could be useful for out of town commuters.

In the daytime, New Haven has a certain storied, academic charm you could only find in a New England college town, with Yale’s campus and the historical architecture and sites around the city. But at night, when the clubs, pubs, and bars open up for business, it’s a completely different scene. Rich harmonies and melodies seep out of Toad's place, one of Connecticut's best music venues, and swirl past young professionals walking to Hula Hank's to get lei'd, or on their way to enjoy a different type of music at the Alchemy Nightclub. The street lamps can romantically illuminate a couple’s walk home from an anniversary dinner, or help an intoxicated grad student find their way to their apartment after a long night at a bar. The nightlife in New Haven is exciting and is a different type of life than what the city usually gives off during the day.
