Students at Santa Ana College should feel safe walking around campus and the streets around it. English Street, W 10th Street, North Harbor Boulevard, North Bristol Street, Santa Clara Ave... these are all streets that neighbor the school and are considered safe. Crime is higher if you move further southeast from the campus towards downtown Santa Ana. But you shouldn’t be worried about living on-campus or near the school, as long as you use common sense and don’t go roaming around at all hours of the night of course.

Santa Ana’s downtown nightlife doesn’t have the best selection in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, but there are enough local bars, lounges, and music/theater venues to produce a fun weekend if you don’t want to travel far (downtown is just a mile and a half from campus). However, if you’re willing to make the trip, Los Angeles is just 30 miles away. There are, of course, other nearby destinations that are worth the drive. Long Beach and Huntington Beach are a blast in the summer, and Anaheim has more to offer than just baseball and Disneyland. SoCal’s nightlife doesn’t disappoint, and you are sure to have fun nights in Santa Ana and beyond if you go to school here.
