Restaurants

There are an incredible number of restaurants in Sacramento. The one that consistently tops people’s lists, however, is the Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. The place is popular for good reason; the staff is friendly, the sushi is high quality, and the atmosphere is chic and upscale. Another super popular location is the Tower Cafe, which is always packed, and a little overpriced, but you can’t go wrong with any of the breakfast items or the dessert, specifically their signature French Toast dish. A third really well-liked restaurant is the Cafe Rolle, in East Sacramento. It is an authentic-feeling French restaurant that has been featured on an episode of “Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives” where everything on the menu is delicious. On campus at SCC, there is a cafe, and a coffee shop, but in a city like Sacramento, students prefer the local eateries.
Traffic & Commuting

The traffic in Sacramento is pretty rough around rush hour, though it’s mainly traffic into Sacramento, not out of it. I5 and I80 can get pretty congested, as well as Route 50, but it is a matter of perspective; Sacramento is nowhere near as bad as LA or San Francisco, but for those from small cities, commuting may feel slow.
