Every year, one of the largest fairs in all of California is held at the Orange County Fairgrounds, the Orange County Fair. Over a million people visit this fair every year, which lasts 23 days and features live music, rides, shopping, cooking, gardening, youth, and crafts competitions, and more. In Costa Mesa, there is also the Pacific Amphitheater, which is a big music venue that has performances by artists like Madonna and Kelly Clarkson. The ScotsFest Celtic Fair happens in Costa Mesa each spring, with piping, drumming, dancing, whiskey-tasting, music, archery, and kids’ games. Other annual events include the Annual Fascination of Orchids International Show, the annual Pet Expo, Summer Food & Wine Festival, the October Food, Wine & Micro-Brew Fest, the Persian Festival of Autumn, Project Cuddle’s Annual Costume Ball, and September’s Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show.

There are many clubs in the area around OCC, which is great because there are no dorms or Greek life at OCC. The beach is about a 10-minute drive from OCC, full of bars and entertainment. In Costa Mesa, there are wine bars, hookah bars, Irish pubs, gay bars, pool halls, and tons of popular dance clubs. Sutra OC and the Shark Club are very popular, though not the best dance clubs you’ll ever visit in your life. None of the clubs in Costa Mesa are anything special, really, but down at Newport Beach, there are quite a few more options, like Focus Tuesday’s, Blackie’s, Sharkeez, and Beach Ball.
