Several highways run through the town, but for local travel by public transit, your options are limited to Siskiyou Transit and General Express (aka the STAGE) bus lines. An Amtrak train passes through Weed but the nearest stop is in Dunsmuir, about 15 miles away. The Amtrak shuttle has one stop in North Weed. Greyhound buses have a station in town, with north and southbound buses. The nearest malls and clubs are all distant, so for COS students, a car is recommended if they intend to leave Weed.
