Pretty much the only safety concern in Nob Hill, where the academy is located, is slipping down the hill and breaking a bone. Other than that, there’s very little crime in the community, and I would feel safe walking here at all hours of the night. The area’s affluence and upper-class population certainly is a large part of this, but also there are crowds of people walking around late every night because of the restaurants and bars here. If you can afford Nob Hill’s expensive rent, then I would encourage you to live here, as it’s one of the safest neighborhoods in San Fran.

The academy is located in San Fran’s Nob Hill neighborhood. It’s often referred to as “snob hill” because it’s a very affluent area with upper-class residents and a growing population of young professionals. Even when it was founded it was this way: nob is short for noble and in olden days this referred to affluence. As for its academy of art, it has a massive enrollment of over 17,000, which is one of the highest in the country for an art school. Students here are a large reason why Nob Hill stays cultured and hip.
