ASU has earned the distinction of having the highest enrollment out of any public university in the country. There are over 70,000 students if you add up the tallies from every campus. This large student body is diverse: around one out of every twenty students is from another country. White students are the majority at ASU with 60% of the population, but other ethnicities like Latinos, African-Americans, and Asians comprise almost a third of the student body (28%). With over 1,000 student organizations and multiple campuses that are individually larger than most public colleges, you will be a small fish in a huge pond if you go to ASU.

ASU’s ranking in Playboy’s 2011 list of Top 10 Party Schools confirmed what the students and Tempe locals already know: ASU has one of the best college nightlife scenes in the entire United States. Playboy ranked it third on the list, and it was only one of two Western colleges on the list (UCal-Santa Barbara being the other). There are plenty of bars, clubs, music venues, and parties both on-campus and in the city that have enough variety to keep both current students and post-grad students satisfied. The weekends usually start early (either Wednesday or Thursday), so there’s always something going on around the area.
