By public transportation, the commute takes about 1 hour, including the time it takes to get from Brookfield to the Bluemound & Elmridge bus stop. Since the Milwaukee County Transit System does not connect directly to Brookfield, taking the bus is somewhat of a hassle, but may be worth the trouble in order to save on gas and depending on how close you are located to the Bluemound & Elmridge bus stop. One major perk of living in Brookfield is that only one highway passes through the city at the southern end, resulting in little traffic flow through the city.
