I’ve rented in Toledo for 21 years now (in over a dozen complexes), and I have to say that I can’t imagine being happier anywhere else. The city isn’t the largest in the state, but it’s not small either. It’s a perfect middle-size, and the same applies to the rental market. It’s not super competitive like large cities, or scarce and bare like small cities. It has a healthy market that has been thriving as of late. Just take a look at Toledo’s rental map (which you can access when you search for listings on MyApartmentMap); there are properties scattered everywhere, ranging from a few hundred a month to a couple thousand.
Nightlife

Don’t be fooled by John Denver; what he said about Toledo’s nightlife in “Saturday Night in Toledo, Ohio” just isn’t true. Or at least, not anymore. Where do I start? The Toledo Museum of Art is incredible, especially the symphony that performs in the museum’s Peristyle hall. There’s also the Toledo Repertoire, the Valentine Theater, the Collingwood Art Center... but if culture isn’t for you these might not hold your interest. Definitely check out Adams Street for the best bars in the city. The Attic on Adams, the Ottawa Tavern, Wesley’s Bar & Grill, and Bretz Bar are the best. They single-handedly prove that what Denver said about everything closing down early in Toledo is just not true nowadays.
