Information About the Area from our Experts

Public Transportation

Public Transportation

Dan Geller - Real Estate Agent

Public transportation is everywhere in Manhattan. Subways are without a doubt the most reliable, efficient, and cost effictive way to navigate the streets of New York. For those not familiar, there are local trains and express trains. Local trains stop every nine blocks or so, whereas express trains stop every 15 - 30 blocks making your trip faster. If you plan on living near a subway station that is on the express line you may have to pay more in rent as these areas tend to be more desirable. However, you may save yourself thousands of dollars in commuting aggravation.

Renter Friendly

Renter Friendly

Dan Geller - Real Estate Agent

New York City is one of the most renter friendly markets in the United States. However, in order to stay on top of your competition (other renters) you will need a real estate agent who understands the NYC market and will fight to make sure you get the home you choose. Having market knowledge is critical to success. Your real estate agent must know which buildings allow pets, shares, guarantors, smoking, etc. Additionally, you may be renting in a building that is being privately rented (ex. in a co-op or condo building) and you may be required to submit a board approval package. Make sure that you hire a real estate agent who is expert at this process, which of course the Geller Group falls into all these categories.
