If you are a pet owner looking to rent in Wayne, there are multiple complexes that could be right for you. Wayne Village offers many amenities including laundry room on site, pool, playground, and a New York City bus stop right out front. Rent is relatively affordable and includes heat and hot water for all units. Mountain View Crossing is another all-pet-friendly complex including many amenities such as a fitness center and fully equipped barbecue area. Rent is higher at Mountain View, as it is a more luxurious complex, but both complexes allow cats and dogs of all sizes. If you are a cat owner, Berdan Court and Kings Arms Apartments are both cat only friendly. Both are located within walking distance to shopping centers and amenities, as well as transportation to New York and surrounding cities.

Wayne is located about 16 miles outside of New York City. There is plenty of public transportation available in Wayne, including New Jersey Transit stations Mountain View and Wayne Route 23, with service to Hoboken, Midtown Manhattan, and all stops between, with options to switch routes. New Jersey Transit also offers bus service to Newark on routes 11, 28, and 75, and Manhattan on routes 191, 193, 194, and 195, and local service on many routes depending on destination. Public transportation makes travel convenient in Wayne, but if you prefer to drive, there are also many major roadways that cross through the township. Interstate 80, as well as U.S Routes 46 and 202, and Route 23 are accessible in Wayne. There is not very much local traffic, and getting on these major routes right out of town makes travel to and from Wayne convenient.

Wayne offers special events throughout the year to bring the community together. Generally, town events are free for residents, as the goal is to bring the town together for a sense of community. Annually, June 3 marks the Wayne Day Celebration, held at Wayne High School. The town organizes fun and games with entertainment, live music and various booths for residents’ enjoyment. Wayne also organizes Olympics, held in June for Juniors and May for Seniors. There is also a yearly senior citizen picnic in September. Holiday celebrations are held throughout the year; a city-wide easter egg hunt, memorial day parade, veterans day service, tree-lighting, and halloween festival are all available and free to Wayne residents. The gender gap is not very large; for every 100 females in Wayne, there are 92 males. As for economics, the median household income was $100,638, with 3.6% of the population below the poverty line.
