The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, known as HUD, funds this program as well as the Clifton Home Improvement Program, known as CHIP. The program gives Clifton homeowners the opportunity to apply for grants alloting them money to put toward necessary home repairs. Section 8 also offers the Family Self Sufficiency program, known as FSS. This program assists residents who are currently receiving government assistance to lower their dependency on those funds through help with job searches and future planning. Nightlife in Clifton consists mostly of sports bars and local pubs. As far as these are concerned, though, there are some great spots. Sharky’s Wings and Raw Bar and Bogey’s Sports Pub are both local favorites; both are open until 3 a.m., have a full bar, jukebox, and televisions. Dingo’s Den is similar, but it offers a dancing area, which could make for a different kind of evening. LaZiza Lebanese Cuisine and Hookah Lounge is also a great place to let loose. It is BYOB (popular in New Jersey, so always check!), but they offer hookahs and are open until 1 a.m. All of these bars mentioned also serve food, so a late dinner night is a great option as well. DingBatz is a music venue located in Clifton, holding local rock concerts frequently with a full bar. The late night scene in Clifton is pretty casual, but the surrounding cities (including NYC, 17 miles away) offer plenty of variety.
