Public transportation isn’t very popular in Fayetteville, only one out of a hundred people use it. This isn’t a figure of speech: the 2010 census reported that only 1% of residents take public transit to commute to work. Instead, almost everyone drives a vehicle to and from their job. The average commute time is around 22 minutes, which is pretty low when you put it on a national scale. The closest big city is Raleigh, which is around an hour away.

Fayetteville has a very pleasant climate, in my opinion. The winters are very mild; snow isn’t unheard of but it doesn’t usually fall often, and the temperatures are more frequently cool than they are cold. They usually are in the 40s on a typical winter week. Don’t forget that Fayetteville has a subtropical climate, meaning that the summers can be very hot. The average highs are usually in the high 80s, but with the humidity it feels at least ten degrees hotter. If you are from a part of the country that has low humidity, you may think that it’s stifling here. I admit, it takes a while to get used to. But once you’re settled into your home in Fayetteville, I think you will realize that it has some of the best weather in the country.
