In the first six months there were around 2000 apartments on the market in Eden Prairie. The area used to be a bedroom community for those who worked in Minneapolis-St. Paul, but has been transformed into a business center for flourishing companies. The city is home to over 2,200 businesses and headquarters, including Lifetouch, Alliant Techsystems, SuperValu, and the Minnesota Vikings. Because of this, the unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the country. In 2010, in the midst of a recession, 95% of the city was employed, and there were 50,000 jobs in the area. Today, there is still an abundance of jobs, and apartments for workers to rent, available.

Eden Prairie has been ranked on CNN Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live List every year since 2006, and in 2010 earned the #1 spot. A large reason they received this honor is their recreational amenities. Minnesota is famous for their lakes, and Eden Prairie has an astounding 17 of them, along with more than 100 ponds. Residents can enjoy 4,500 acres of open space wetlands, and 1,000 acres of parks. Bikers, walkers, and runners fit right in here: there are 125 miles of sidewalks and trails interwoven throughout the city. In addition, the city allows public access to beaches, fishing piers, public fields, and a state-of-the-art Community Center with a pool, three ice rinks, and a fitness room. Whether you’re ice skating in the winter or swimming in one of the lakes in the summer, you will never be bored in Eden Prairie.
