There are hundreds of restaurants in the Shreveport area, but the restaurants in the downtown district are plentiful and serve excellent food. Fumblebrewski’s Sports Bar & Grill is a favorite among residents and is a great place to watch any game, get great food, and enjoy great drinks--all at an affordable price. Monsour’s is a higher end restaurant that is over 100 years old and serves pastas, steaks, seafood, poboys, and other Louisiana favorites. Lastly, if you’re looking for some classic southern cuisine, then Smokey Joe’s Cafe is the place to go with excellent and authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Shreveport is an excellent place to rent if people are looking for a place with short and easy commute to work. Nearly 80% of the people that live in the city also work in the city and have a very short commute since the city isn’t that big and is traversed by I-220, I-20, and I-49. The average commute is only about 15 minutes for those that are travelling within the city or just outside the city. Since there are three interstates that pass through the city and a number of other highways and expressways, traffic within the city can be a hassle and during rush hour times it can be very heavy, especially since the majority of the people are travelling within the city. During the day the traffic isn’t horrible, but getting on and off the interstate to access parts of the city can be annoying.
