Topeka is home to the Hill’s Bark Park, a large dog park that is split into an off-leash area for small dogs and an area for large dogs. Each part of the park is equipped with water stations for dogs and humans, benches and picnic tables, and open shelters for some protection from the sun. The park is also lighted at night so that residents can use the park at night, making it a great place for anyone that wants to take their dog to the park after work. The park also has toy boxes and disposal bags and trash cans, making it an all inclusive and very user friendly place to go. The park has grassy areas and mulched areas where dogs tend to run more and play fetch. Unfortunately, there are no available apartments that allow large dogs, but there are many place that allow cats and small dogs.

A one bedroom apartment will only run you about $550, while a two bedroom is less than $700. A three bedroom apartment is around $900 and a little more for apartments that are larger. The apartments near the downtown district are generally more expensive, but nothing outrageous. If you are running on a tight budget, but still want to be in a city, Topeka may be the right place for you considering the number of one and two bedroom apartments that are available for under $500.
