The Regional Transportation Authority operates public transit in the city, and along with the extensive L service, provides commuter rail service (second-most used in the U.S.), bus lines, and paratransit routes. Amtrak and Greyhound also service the area, and the city is one of the most walkable in the nation. A little over one in four residents use public transit to commute to work every day, which is one of the highest rates in the U.S.
