Pet Friendly

Pet Friendly

Steve Sanders - Property Manager

There are so many apartment properties in Jacksonville that allow pets that it’s not possible to fit them all in the space provided here. However, to see for yourself, you can search MyApartmentMap’s database for all the pet friendly properties in the area, and choose the best one for yourself. Not only are housing units accommodating to pets, but so is the community and the city, which provides many amenities. For example, there are five dog friendly parks in the city, including the off-leash Dog Wood Park, which offers 42 acres, 25 of them fenced, of swimming and playing areas. This is one of the largest dog parks in the country, and was named one of the best by Dog Fancy Magazine in 2009.

Traffic & Commuting

Traffic & Commuting

Steve Sanders - Property Manager

Jacksonville is just 12 miles from Florida’s naturally beautiful east coast. To get there, take Florida Route 228 and U.S. Route 90. There are four other U.S. Routes that are accessible to the city, and three interstates. Public transit is provided by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, although only 2% of residents use it to get to work every day. 92.7% of them drive a vehicle instead. The average one way commute to work for people who live here is 27 minutes.

Schools & Education

Schools & Education

Steve Sanders - Property Manager

Jacksonville has some of the most successful schools in the U.S. The Stanton College Preparatory School has ranked in the top five in Newsweek’s Top 1,000 Public Schools in the U.S. every year from 2000-2011, and ranked #1 three of those years. Another public school in the city, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, also regularly ranks high, and in 2010, Jacksonville had five other public schools on the list. So, while Jacksonville’s public education thrives, it also is home to over a hundred well-respected private schools. If you live here your children will have a lot of options for their education.

Recreation

Recreation

Steve Sanders - Property Manager

It’s not a stretch to claim that Jacksonville has one of the best recreation systems in the entire country. For one, the city operates the largest urban park system in the U.S., as they service public space for 337 locations that span over 80,000 acres in the city. Some parks sit below downtown’s buildings, and others are perched on the waterfront next to the St. John’s River and Atlantic Ocean. Facilities range from playgrounds, green picnic areas, and sports facilities to beaches with pearly white sand and fishing docks. The city is also home to a number of trails to walk, bike, or jog on, such as the 14.5-mile long Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail.
