Though Glastonbury has a population that could technically be considered a small city, they are officially a town. This fits well with their identity, because the community feels more like a close-knit small town than a small city. Glastonbury hosts a number of events that emphasize this. There is an Art Walk that highlights local artists’ work in the downtown area, a popular Apple Harvest Festival in the fall that attracts thousands of people, several 5K races, and even a Strawberry Moon Festival. If you rent here you will definitely find yourself participating in at least some of the events around town.
