You won’t find many cities in the area that have as many popular and acclaimed restaurants as Whittier. If I were to recommend a certain culinary experience for you to try here, I would definitely go with Mexican. La Chiquita Mexicana, El Camino Mexican Grill, Bizarra Capital, Munguia’s Mexican Restaurant and La Casita Olvera are all remarkable places to eat. They serve up dishes that are truly authentic and perfectly homemade. Other flavors like Chinese, Italian, Japanese, French, and of course, American, are also represented here by delicious establishments.

Renting here is a bit lower than the average in California. In fact, the state’s median rent is $1,149, and Whittier’s is $1,124. The difference may not seem like much, but when you look at the variety of “great value” apartments, as I call them, where you can get a nice place for cheaper than in most of SoCal, you’ll really want to look more into Whittier’s market. Typically when you add a bedroom to your apartment search, the price increases $200-300.
