One of the major reasons why Forbes named Tustin one of the “Top 25 Towns to Live Well” in 2009 was that it has one of the shortest average commutes in the country -- 22 minutes -- which is especially noteworthy considering that it’s located in the SoCal-Los Angeles area that’s notorious for its congested traffic and long commutes. If you decide to rent in Tustin, you will definitely appreciate the short commute times, which are largely because of people being employed in local businesses and Tustin’s proximity to Santa Ana (two miles away).

There are almost a hundred acres of open space to enjoy in Tustin, all of which are open to everyone who lives here, both young and old. 14 parks split this space, and they vary greatly in size; one is as small as 0.4 acres and another is 20. Regardless of how much space it has, every park here has great amenities such as trails, picnic areas, amphitheaters, sports fields, etc. You’ll want to take advantage of Tustin’s beautiful weather year-round at these parks. There are also two local shopping centers, the Tustin Market Place (an outdoor mall) and the Jamestown Village Center (has small shops and great restaurants). The Village Center is located in Old Town Tustin, which is a charming historic district.
