As of this year, Culver City now has a light rail provided by the Los Angeles Metro that travels from Downtown Los Angeles to Culver City. The Culver City Bus operates within Culver City, providing residents access to areas around the city and surrounding areas. Culver City also has Dial-A-Ride van service and taxi coupons for the elderly and disabled, making it simple and affordable for the elderly and disabled to get around the city.

The Culver City Unified School District consists of five elementary, one middle, and two high schools. The El Marino Language School is an elementary school that has a Spanish language immersion program and a Japanese immersion program. STAR Prep Academy is the local private middle and high school which works in collaboration with the star Eco Station, a wildlife refuge center for exotic and endangered animals.

Culver City offers a variety of businesses, museums, and parks that may be enjoyed by its residents. The Helmes Bakery District is a center with restaurants, art galleries, and a jazz club. The Culver City Public Theatre is a local theatre that holds annual summer productions that are outdoors and free. The Museum of Jurassic Technology is a museum dedicated to educating people about the Jurassic period and how scientists currently study this time period. There are ten parks in Culver City that are open for public use and one Dog Park along with the Culver Ice Arena, a large public skating rink.
